Welcome to Superhero Subcultures, a blog to explore, among other things, the effect that culture has had on comics, and similarly the effect comics have had on culture.
I will be attempting to update the blog around once a week, with anything from fact files, origin stories, images and reviews, as well as occasional comments on the cultural and historical inspirations for some of the most notable figures in comics, and their impact on, and outside of, the genre.
As the title of this blog gives away, the initial focus of this blog will be on superheroes or teams of superheroes, and during the early stages these will usually be from Marvel or DC publications. If this blog proves successful, the scope of the blog will change to include either other publishers, or other areas of interest for readers.
